Welcome to the Primary 4 page!
Enjoy our latest learning adventures from last year and the current newsletter.
We have had a brilliant start to the new school year, and it has been so lovely getting to know every pupil in the class. Everyone has settled into the new routine really well, and I am looking forward to the school year ahead!
Maths
Some pupils will be learning about numbers to 1000 by looking at place value, addition and subtraction, then multiplication and division. Some pupils will benefit from some further consolidation of work covered previously before moving on to numbers to 1000.
Literacy
In spelling, pupils will be learning different focus words/sounds each week. Spelling words, focus sounds, and at home consolodation opportunities will be available each Friday for what pupils have been learning that week. Through taught lessons, literacy activities and play opportunities, pupils will be learning to develop their use of adjectives and punctuation in writing.
Health and Wellbeing
Our PE days are on a Monday and a Thursday. This term, pupils will be taking part in activities and lessons to learn about positive, respectful friendships with others, understand their feelings, develop social skills, and learn how relationships influence their wellbeing as they grow.
French and RME
This term on a Tuesday between break and lunch, Mrs Pittendrigh will be teaching French (phrases and
conversation) and RME (Christianity - biblical stories)
Topic
This term our topic is Myths and Legends where pupils will be leanring about different Scottish and Greek
stories. Pupils will learn what makes these stories unique, focus on some famous heroes and creatures,
and look at how myth and legend stories are structured. Later in the term, pupils will plan and write their
own myth using their knowledge on the topic.
